As mentioned earlier, health is a multidimensional discipline and it is correlated with every aspect of development. Especially focusing on an underdeveloped country like ours, health cannot be and should not be isolated by any means. Where health and health care is discussed its management aspect should be simultaneously viewed. In Nepal, health care services are provided through private and public sector either in form of hospitals, health education or research centers. Again, health services cannot be addressed alone without addressing the managerial aspect. When providing health care services through different organizations, hospitals and health centers in form of preventive, promotive, curative or rehabilitative services the technical sectors should be well addressed as well as the managerial aspect. This creates a scope of healthcare managers in the field of healthcare management. Health care management study not just covers the managerial process but also the health concept and studies. So, a healthcare management faculty product can well address issues of health by understanding the technical health related issues with managerial actions to be implemented in addressing any health care needs in any healthcare setting.
In the present context, the products of this discipline have been able to well establish themselves in different areas of health services, in national and international level, different organizations and hospitals, with attaining positions of CEO, General Manager, Hospital Administrator, Chief Administrator, HCM mentor etc. This alone describes the scope of Health Care Management in Nepal.
Conclusion:
Health Care Management though being a new subject of study in Nepal has been well accepted worldwide and valued for its importance. Health and development are new ways of addressing the meaning. Now, health is not confined to clinical studies and found only. It has equally been related to the management of health services for optimum efficiency and effectiveness in providing health care.
